Common questions
Does face recognition work if a guest is wearing sunglasses, a hat, or a mask?
A mask breaks matching; sunglasses, hats, and strongly turned faces can lower the match score. Photos where a face is hidden still reach the guest through Sessions: tag them into the session and they get every frame from it, face or not.
What happens to photos Face Match can't match?
Sessions cover them. A guest tagged into a session gets every photo from it, including backs of heads and detail shots. Staff can also review and confirm matches in the portal, and guests can tag a friend in a photo from the gallery.
Do guests need an account or app to use Face Match?
No account, no app. A guest scans a QR code or taps a link, takes one selfie, and gets a branded personal gallery link via SMS with every photo and video they appear in. Takes under 20 seconds, works on any phone, no download required.
Is Face Match included in every plan or do I need to upgrade?
Included in every BrandStudio plan, starting at Capture. It is the single most useful thing BrandStudio does for guests, so it ships standard rather than as an upsell.
