Booth Camera Setup
Three things to set before guests arrive. Each one has caused trouble at a real event.
1. Focus: One-Shot AF, AF point in the center- Set the camera's focus mode to One-Shot AF.
- Set the AF area to a single point, and move that point to the center of the frame.
- Guests stand in the middle of the frame, so the center point always has a face or body under it.
Why: in AI Servo with a wide AF area, the camera refuses to take the photo when nothing is under the AF point. The countdown finishes, no photo arrives, and the booth looks frozen.
2. Check the flash and trigger before doors open- Turn on the flash and the trigger, and check their batteries.
- Run one full session on the booth: countdown, photos, share screen.
- Look at every photo. Each one should be lit by the flash.
- Watch the live view during the countdown. It should look normal, not washed out.
3. Turn off TestFlight automatic updates on event iPads- Open the TestFlight app on the iPad.
- Tap BrandStudio.
- Turn Automatic Updates off.
Why: with automatic updates on, the iPad can install a new build in the middle of the event. The app closes while it updates, and the booth stops until someone opens it again. Update on purpose, the day before, and test the booth after.Configure Photo Booth
