Common questions

How does Watch Folder work with Capture One or Lightroom?

Set your tether export in Capture One or Lightroom to a local folder. Point BrandStudio's Watch Folder at that same folder. Every JPEG the photographer exports — after their color, crop, and retouch — gets branded, uploaded, and delivered to the gallery automatically. Zero extra steps in the photographer's workflow.

Does Watch Folder upload raw files or just the JPEGs I export?

Whatever lands in the folder. JPEG exports are the common workflow, but Watch Folder also picks up RAW (CR2, CR3, NEF, ARW, and more), HEIC, TIFF, PNG, and short video files. Most photographers export edited JPEGs and keep raws in their library — but if a raw lands in the folder, it goes up too.

Can I use Watch Folder with photographers who don't use Capture One or Lightroom?

Yes. Watch Folder is a simple "any file that lands in this folder gets processed" system. Photographers using Photo Mechanic, Bridge, or even a shared drop folder all work. As long as JPEGs end up in the watched folder, BrandStudio picks them up and handles the rest.

What happens to photos that were in the folder before I pointed BrandStudio at it?

Historical files are ignored by default — only new files landing in the folder after Watch Folder starts get processed. This prevents accidentally re-uploading an entire archive. If you do want to backfill a batch of existing photos, drop them into the folder fresh or use the bulk upload tool in the portal instead.
